Appointments

APPOINTMENTS

You may book an appointment with the doctor by using the automated telephone system , using the on-line booking service or contacting the surgery.

Please be a patient patient ! Our receptionist have an extremely busy job. Try to help them to help you. Please remember if you are sometimes kept waiting or if questions seem irritating, the receptionist is only carrying our practice policies which are aimed at the smooth and efficient running of the practice. This is especially relevant when a home visit is being requested and the receptionist has to judge the urgency of the request.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let the Receptionist know, even at the last minute.

If you change your address, telephone number, mobile number or other details, please let the Receptionist know to enable our records to be updated. Please also update us if you have a mobile phone number or daytime work number, so we can contact you if necessary and send you a reminder the day prior to your appointment.

We have some dedicated Clinic appointments at special times run by specially trained Nurses and Doctors who have an interest in monitoring specific health issues.

Chaperones

We can provide a chaperone to be with you during your appointment if you wish. Please ask when making your appointment.

Practice Nurse Sessions

Our Practice Nurses hold various morning, afternoon and evening sessions. If you are unsure as to whether you need to see a Doctor or Nurse, please ask the Receptionist when making your appointment. Our Nurses help with a wide variety of appointments including:-

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Asthma advice.checks
  • Diabetic advice/checks
  • Well woman advice (including smears)/MOTs
  • Well man advice/MOTs
  • Weight control/dietry advice
  • Stopping smoking
  • Travel health advice
  • Immunisations
  • Repeat oral contraception prescribing/advice
  • Treatment to minor injuries
  • Removal of sutures/dressing changes
  • Ear syringing
  • Family planning/pre-conception advice

Health Care Assistants Sessions

We have two Health Care Assistants based at the surgery who see patients for New Patient Screening, Well Person Checks, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Dressings, ECGS, Dopplers, Weight Checks.
